Novel insights on anti-obesity potential of the miracle tree, Moringa oleifera: A systematic review

Moringa oleifera (MO) has started to focus the attention of many researchers, especially in last decade, due its rich nutrient content and bioactive compounds that have numerous pharmaceutical potentials. In this systematic review, 36 research articles were included explored anti-obesity potential MO through in-vitro in-vivo studies. The 9 studies, 27 3 clinical studies mainly focused on extract prepared using leaves few particularly isothiocyanates. based 3T3-L1 cells, while involved a good range male female mice rats. Only two human major mechanisms improving lipid profile (levels total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, very high-density lipoprotein cholesterol) body weight, regulating significant genes associated with adipogenesis, glucose uptake, insulin resistance, hormones (such as leptin, vaspin, resistin, insulin). trials studying humans is limited related impact mass index, postprandial blood only.
